About FIV

Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a major feline infectious disease; infection proceeds through several stages, and it is not known why some infected cats remain relatively healthy for many years while disease progresses rapidly in others, resulting in the development of immunodeficiency. The aim of the FIV Prognosis Project is assess the influence of parameters such as virus neutralising antibodies on virus evolution and disease progression. It is predicted that this project will lead to a greater understanding of the pathogenesis of FIV and should allow us to develop improved methods for determining prognosis in infected animals. more about fiv
